GOALS
Hill College aimed to completely transform its softball facility to meet NCAA standards, enhance player performance and provide an improved spectator experience. The project focused on creating a modern, functional and visually appealing space to support the college’s athletic program and attract new talent.
PROCESS
OVERVIEW
KYA worked closely with Hill College to develop a comprehensive construction plan that addressed every aspect of the softball facility. By leveraging the efficient procurement practices and strong supplier relationships of the TIPS purchasing contracts, KYA ensured the project stayed on schedule and within budget while meeting the college’s high expectations.
CONSTRUCTION
PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS
The Hill College softball field improvements included the construction of a new metal hitting and practice facility, complete with spray foam insulation, artificial turf hitting bays and netting. Full-pour concrete dugouts and a mezzanine were added to enhance functionality and durability. The playing surface was upgraded with a concrete base solution, synthetic turf and cooling infill, along with NCAA-compliant lighting to ensure optimal playing conditions for athletes. Additional enhancements included a new press box, concession stand, artificial turf bullpens and bleachers for spectator seating. The project also incorporated road realignment, new netting and metal awnings to improve accessibility and overall usability of the facility.
PROJECT RESULTS
The improvements not only elevated the college’s softball program but also enhanced the overall campus experience for students, staff and visitors. “Working with KYA has been an absolute joy.
