CUUBE™ 60 SERIES - GORDAN BEATTY MIDDLE SCHOOL
GENERAL INFORMATION
Building Name: Gordon Beatty Middle School
Building Location: Buena Park, California, United States
Project Type: 60-Series CUUBE™ structure, changing room, locker room
DESCRIPTION
Gordon Beatty Middle School (GBMD) serves the community of Buena Park and parts of La Mirada and Fullerton. In 2019, Gordon Beatty transitioned from an elementary to a middle school, increasing their student body.
GOALS
To accommodate the increase in student population, Gordon Beatty needed a new locker room and multi-purpose room that could also serve as a gymnasium. As part of their commitment to providing cutting-edge facilities, Buena Park Unified School District (BPUSD) initially explored modular trailers but sought a longer-lasting solution with an expedited time frame.
PROCESS
OVERVIEW
TLS Choice worked together with BPUSD’s director of facilities to propose a CUUBE™ steel structure. The shorter construction timeline and maximum endurance of the CUUBE™ superstructure set it apart.
CONSTRUCTION
PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS
The Choice team proposed a Kit of Parts (KOP) contract that utilizes pre-sourced and pre-verified components delivered to the site in a timely, sequential and synchronized schedule. By using just-in-time delivery, CUUBE™ structures can be built with greater efficiency than traditional stick-build methods, resulting in time and cost savings.
PROJECT RESULTS
Gordon Beatty Middle School and Buena Park USD were very pleased with the quick turnaround time and the quality of the facilities. The CUUBE™’s rapid completion allowed the district to get students into a new, state-of-the-art gymnasium quickly.
