ASPHALT REPAIR AND STRIPING - COLLEGE OF THE DESERT

TIGHT TIMELINE

College of the Desert was in immediate need of asphalt repairs throughout several parking lots on campus during the students’ spring break. KYA partnered with a fourth generation industry expert to execute the job from start to finish. Our team inspected the sites and mapped out a plan of attack, keeping access to the library available for the public. A product called “Hot Mix” was used for areas where asphalt was cracking. Hot mix combines a mixture of stone, sand, or gravel with cement and is specifically formulated for areas where asphalt is cracking. This process ensures a quick installation, weather resistance and durability to withstand traffic. A complete grind and repair was performed on the remaining parking lots before the entire area was sealed, recoated and striped. In addition to the asphalt installation, KYA also positioned new curbing and painted parking stall lines. Utilizing the FCCC Purchasing Contract to procure materials quickly, the proposed timeline was met with ease. College of the Desert was so pleased with the quality of work, they requested KYA to perform an evaluation for the remaining lots across campus.
