PICKLEBALL COURT RESURFACING - EASTERN OAK PARK

DAMAGED AND UNPLAYABLE

Mission Oaks Recreation and Park District had recently repaired their pickle ball courts with an asphalt system. Unfortunately, after a few months, damage started to appear on the court’s surface. The District started their search for an alternative long-lasting solution. KYA recommended using an advanced overlay system that includes a shield layer to better protect the substrate, making it more durable than a traditional repair process.  The overlay system is installed in a few easy steps. The surface is ground down to create a sturdy base for the shield layer. The shield panels are then cut and seams are made to seal any openings. Finally, the color finish is applied over top of the base system.  The five step process ensures the underlying pavement is protected from the elements and further deterioration. Unlike traditional methods, this process repairs the entire court, not just the damaged areas.  The District utilized the CMAS procurement tool to acquire the courts quickly and easily.  Overall, the project surpassed the client’s expectations.
