XERISCAPING - CYRUS J. MORRIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Design and created a nearly water-less landscape utilizing natural stone and rock, synthetic grass, and replica Plantscapes.

Method of Approach: To expedite the project with the deadline in mind, KYA researched available inherently UV protected plant options that most closely matched the original specified live plants. They moved forward with the natural rock placement and artificial turf installation while awaiting the plants arrival. A few vital features were the sand blasted rock signage and boulder placement/securement using re-bar and cement. By partnering with onsite subcontractors, adopting a fluid strategy and maintaining a stringent schedule the project was completed on time.

Results: The new landscape is now able to withstand high foot traffic, greatly reduce water usage and minimize maintenance while still providing a beautiful outdoor space which is now the focal point of the school front.
