DESCRIPTION
Georgetown ISD had a tennis court complex that was in need of resurfacing. The court had severe wear marks, cracks and discoloration.
PROCESS
OVERVIEW
KYA provided a plan to repair and resurface the eight tennis courts which included the following:
• Pressure washed mold and loose aggregate
• Identified and lifted low areas
• Ground, cleaned and patched cracks with specially formulated court compound
• Applied acrylic resurfacer across the entire court
• Applied color coating
• Repainted existing net posts
• Repainted all stripes and boundary lines
CONSTRUCTION
PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS
Tippit Middle School elected to reverse the traditional colors of the courts by making the play area blue and the outer boundary red. This unique color choice created a very visually stimulating surface that helps the site stand out.
PROJECT RESULTS
Overall, the repair and resurface surpassed the client’s expectations. They are thrilled and ready to get students back out on the courts.
