WATER FILLING STATIONS - SACRAMENTO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
WATER FILLING STATIONS
Recent events shed light on areas within the school setting that posed potential health risks to students and employees. One spot that stood out to Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) was the drinking fountains. Drinking fountains are frequently used on campus and can easily spread bacteria and germs from hands, breath and backwash. SCUSD was looking for a healthier, safer and more innovative solution when replacing their older drinking fountains and decided on the Touchless Water Cooler/Bottle Filler.
To procure funding, SCUSD sent a request for proposals (RFP). KYA thoroughly reviewed the request, performed the site walk, and provided a cost-effective and value-added proposal. KYA was careful to address environmental issues, including old piping, rust and the safety of children in classrooms. SCUSD choose KYA based on the customer service, competitive pricing and efficiency plan.
The safety of the students and the protection of the learning environment from the noise of construction was a significant concern of SCUSD. KYA began demolition at 5 AM and completed the installation while the children were in class, minimizing the impact on the school.
The students and staff are enjoying the modern and upgraded drinking fountains.
