CUUBE™ 36 SERIES - CASTORI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

GENERAL INFORMATION

Building Name: Michael J. Castori Elementary School

Building Location: Sacramento, California, United States

Project Type: 36-Series CUUBE™ structure, restrooms, playground, shade structure

DESCRIPTION

Michael J. Castori Elementary School, situated in Sacramento, CA, is a public institution within the Twin Rivers Unified School District (TRUSD), accommodating 700 students in grades K-6 and 60 in pre-school classes.

GOALS

Twin Rivers Unified School District aimed to construct two classroom buildings with four classrooms each at Castori Elementary School to address pre-school needs, seeking a solution achievable within a year that could be purchased with the Preschool, TK and Full Day Kinder Facilities Grant Program.

PROCESS

OVERVIEW

To meet the time constraint, KYA Services proposed CUUBE™ steel structures. As a DSA pre-checked building, CUUBETM significantly expedited the process. Moreover, KYA Services’ longstanding partnership of nine years with Twin Rivers USD provided assurance of a successful project. In addition, KYA was selected by Twin Rivers USD to standardize TK facilities district-wide.

CONSTRUCTION

PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS

A 36-series CUUBE™ structure was chosen for the TK Building, comprising two buildings with a total of four classrooms, separate restrooms for students and teachers and TK-Support rooms in each building. These support rooms offer teachers a designated space to prepare educational materials, equipped with a sink and cabinetry.

KYA Service’s scope encompassed site preparation, foundation laying, steel structure erection, wall and roof panel installation, and design and construction of play structures and shade canopies. Features like open-concept educational spaces and clerestory windows contribute to an optimal environment for early education.

PROJECT RESULTS

From concept to realization, KYA Services efficiently erected the CUUBETM TK-building. Twin Rivers expressed exceptional satisfaction with the dedication to completion and attention to detail.
